Icardi 2003 Barbera D'Asti Italy Cav Pierino

I bought this wine from a place called Wine Route in Jamwon. It is right up exit 3? It's the exit that goes up to Kim's Club. It's a quaint little wine shop and from what I saw a good selection and reasonable prices. This one was 19,000. I bought a nice pinot, but it's a 2005 so I'm going to sit on it for a year or so. 2009 is going to be a good year because I have a couple wonderful bottles that I've put in storage. First of all...it's bouquet is strong. I'm getting oak and currants, tobacco, and a bit of...wet coffee grinds. I've been letting it air out for a while, about 3 minutes. It's a wine that needs to breath. And now for the tasting. I'm getting apricot. Tart apricot and tobacco. I am getting a bit of ripe blackberries that have been left out in the sun for a while- a slight raisin-ness. It's dry. A medium to high level of dryness. It's mouth feel is a bit burnt buttery. Hmmm. It's starting to grow on me. I&

Hooters Gangnam

Thursday I went to the new Hooters in Gangnam. It's about a block from Gangnam Station, exit 3. It was a good time. I met my friend Stefan and a bunch of his friends from Ansan. Tim also came out. The beer was watery Cass, which was a bit disappointing. They should have tapped some Miller Lite or the Rockies. I had the buffalo shrimp and the girls were...very service oriented. They had Miss Hooters International there and a bunch of other American waitresses from all over. It was fun to see the contrasts between the Korean dancers and the American dancers. The Korean dancers tried to look serious and sexy while the Americans were just teeming with excitement and exhibitionism.

Chateau La Tuilerie 2003 Grand Vin De Bordeaux

This wine was the winner of the Medaille D'Argent, International Challenge in 2004. I bought it for 22,000 at damn it...I can't remember the name right now. It's a chain, but it's down the street from exit 4 at Seoul National University of Education (Gyo Dae). It's the one down from MOA. Anyway...the bouquet I'm getting is fragrant honey dew. It smells a tad flinty and with a bit of lavender. I could smell this all day. Strangely, I'm also getting a bit of white pepper. Overall, a wonderful bouquet. Very soft, velvety soft mouth feel. I'm getting hints of cantaloupe, wet rock, jasmine, and...lemonheads. I can't tell you enough about the mouth feel. It's so silky and the trail is effervescent like menthol. I'm rating this one a 92.
