    I want to go here but my Korean menu deciphering skills are not so good. can you please tell the name of what you ordered (the meat in the picture) so that we can try it? thanks!

  2. Hummingbird Appetite

    Wish I could have Korean barbecue right now.

    @LH
    Based on the photo, the beef looks unmarinated (unless the flash is "washing" out any brownish color of a marinade?) and between 1/4" to 1/2" thick? So I would guess it is either "Deungshim gui" (등심구이)or "Anshim gui" (안심구이).

    However, your probably best off ordering Galbi (갈비). If its like every other place, all the other stuff is included (unless Dan also ordered Soondubu? The red tofu soup in the picture). So if you go with a group of people you order by "sets" of meat (about 1 per person depending on how hungry you are), so order the meat and hold up a number of corresponding fingers. However, if you are going in a big group its usually best to get a mix of meat!

    Other items to consider having:
    1. Chadolbaegi – thinly sliced unmarinated beef brisket
    2. My personal favorite: Samgyeopsal…which is usually washed down by soju!

    If you search for "Korean barbecue" on Wikipedia, they actually havea decent page about the different meats and give both english and Hangul names. (I cheated above because I couldn't remember all the names and I don't have a Hangul keyboard in my office!

    @ Dan!
    Hey Dan! Its been a long time since I last stopped by your blog! Looking good! Have you communicated with Cheri lately?

    Does the place opens for lunch?

  5. I think the directions to this restaurant are incorrect. I tried finding it with a friend and never ended up finding it. Maybe it’s the wrong exit?? Can you post better directions?

    Thanks!
