Hope For Haiti: Fundraising Event this Sunday, February 14th

‘Hope for Haiti,’ is a local fundraising event to help the rebuilding efforts in Haiti. The event will take place on Sunday, February 14th at Roofers in Itaewon, starting at 8pm, and will be inspired by the music and culture of Haiti and the Caribbean. (For those of you who are wondering… ‘Why Sunday?’ – we gently remind you that Monday is a national holiday! Hooray!)

Proceeds from the fundraiser will help a grassroots charity located in Haiti, Olive Tree Projects, established by Sarah Wallace, a 24-year old midwife who has been living and helping in Jacmel since 2008. The Olive Tree Projects (www.olivetreeprojects.com) is a charitable initiative focused on children in Haiti. Sarah has made it part of the organization’s mandate to also care for orphaned or abandoned children, provide prenatal care and education for women in the community, provide educational classes on issues such as hygiene, nutrition and the environment, as well as instill entrepreneurial thinking into the minds of those in the community.

Sarah’s home, which also serves as the Olive Tree Projects’ clinic, was devastated by the earthquake and her plans for establishing an orphanage have had to be hastened, due to the current situation in Haiti. The ‘Hope for Haiti’ fundraiser in Seoul will help provide Olive Tree Projects with the resources needed to continue their work with women and children in the community.

Your help with this fundraiser could be in the form of attendance, a financial donation or with gifts-in-kind.

We are planning to hold a silent auction for larger ticket items as well as provide door prizes to those in attendance. If this is a project you would like to be involved in, you will receive publicity of your product/service throughout the evening, to the guests expected that evening. As an official supporter, you would be welcome to provide business cards and/or brochures at the event. Your logo and business name could also be promoted through our various marketing channels, like the event poster and postcard (soft-copy), Facebook and any newspaper or magazine articles we receive.

I bet we can all be creative with this…if you are affiliated with a group or organization…sports team…and especially the media, why not jump on board with this initiative? Please do not hesitate to pay it forward! :0)

Word of mouth, forwarding this to your hundreds of facebook friends and volunteers for postering will be very much appreciated, indeed!!

(Hope for Haiti)’

행사 관련 자세한 내용은 행사 기획자 파멜라 무노즈 (munoz.pam@gmail.com/010.7444.7267)
