Nightlife in Korea is exciting and the best place for nightlife is in Hongdae. Whenever I have guests visit me, I take them out to the back side of Hongik University (Walk down from Sangsu Station Exit 2). Here you can find great bars, clubs, and ramen shops.

i was beaten up by bouncers here for no reason.
i was sober and 2 of them tried to throw me out for no reason, a third came and they all started to choke, punch and kick me when i was on the flood. 6 of them proceeded to beat the living daylights out of me when i was on the stairs. after they left me outside in a pool of blood, one came back to kick me in the lower back.
this incident left me hospitalised and unable to eat or drink for a while.
they even hit my girlfriend across her face as she tried to get them to stop assaulting me.
a friend of my also reported being assaulted by bouncers here. for no reason.
bouncers are now supposedly plain clothed.
do not go here for your own good and for the sake of others.
