Exhibition Description
Society of the Individual is an exhibition exploring the relationship between the idea of the group and the idea of the individual. Inspired by Henry David Thoreau‘s quote, “City life is millions of people being lonesome together,“ the artist strives to delve deeper into this paradoxical relationship in the cityscape of Seoul, South Korea. With a strong social cultural identity and a rising trend of individuality, Seoul presented itself as a unique cityscape from which the connection between the group and the individual could be explored photographically.
