Opening rice cake and fried chicken this weekend at brew 3.15

When you open up a new business in Korea, it is important to give gifts of rice cake with a letter of introduction to the neighbors. It is asking them to wish the new business luck and the desire to be good neighbors. 

If you come by today and tomorrow (Friday-Saturday, January 9-10, 2015), we will be giving away rice cakes (Friday only) and tastings of our spicy chicken balls (Friday and Saturday)

Calories in Soju and other things I Know about Korea's Famous Swill

Just in case you were wondering, one bottle of Soju contains 540 calories. That's like 4 beers. So to put it in perspective, you would need to walk about two hours to exercise it off. (Walking two hours with a soju hangover is not an easy task.) Soju originally was made from rice but whenever there were rice shortages, people were forbidden to make Soju. Alcohol producers the started to use sweet potatoes and tapioca to make an ethanol based alcohol.
