Barbecue Galbi:
Beef galbi
1-    호박색당 (Hobak Shikdang)
The marinated beef is so soft and tender once cooked. Best deal for great tasting BBQ in Seoul! Only 10 000won per portion! The 됀장찌개 (Dwenjang Jiggae - bean paste soup) and The 계란찜 (Gehran Jjim - Steamed Egg) - these two beauties come free with any order of meat! In Korea, they call it 서비스 (Suh Bee Se - service) which essentially means "free"!

Korean Beef Hanwoo Galbi:
Dally So Picture by Lacrymamosa

1-    Dally So

Apparently the Assorted beef (39000 for 1.2kg) & half Assorted (29000 for 600gr) are the most popular. They also offer Sirloin (20000/400gr), Ribs (20000/400gr), Outside skirt (26000/400gr) and Marbled beef (20000/400gr). Pork & chicken menus sound pretty uninspiring so I am not going to talk about it (passive-agressive behavior on my part, I know). The yukhoe (raw beef; 10000/100gr) is the highlight of the side menu. If you fancy mixing raw egg with raw beef and eating them raw, I’d say go ahead. The only downside is that we each have to pay 2000 for the banchan (side dishes) which we didn’t even eat.

2-    Han6Gam High-End Korean Beef BBQ at Seoul Gran Mall

Their Korean beef is pristine, very high quality, dry-aged, and marbled like snowflakes. It’s not cheap. A portion for one will start at 35,000 won and can go up to hundreds of thousands for something like their massive Bone-in Rib Eye Platter. The fresh cut and aged beef are great. I had their marinated beef ribs (38,000). I don't recommend you get these. For this, specialty dish, I recommend Hong Neung Galbi.

5-    Maple Tree house The menu is reasonable, not cheap, but for an upscale BBQ restaurant it is ok. Hanwoo grade 1++ starts at 35,500 and American USDA Prime starts at 31,000 won (10% VAT not included).  There is Woo Sam Gyup which is supposed to be a "beef bacon" and they have marinated short ribs (which I was warned against by a fellow foodie).

116-1 itaewon-dong, yongsan-gu, seoul

6-    Chosim han-u- Amanda Glidden
1021 Unjung-dong Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do

7-    Samwon Garden
We had the Galbi/Kalbi set lunch for 25,000 krw. It was very good w/ lots of good side salads and kimchi dishes. It also came with a soup which was a choice of cold noodles seasoned to your liking (you add things to it) or a hot soy bean paste soup, very tasty. A good value for the ambience and service. I recommend this place for a nice business lunch or a treat.
