Photo Essay: Examination of a Hoegaarden Bottle

This Saturday at Cafe The Air, I started to really take a look at my Hoegaarden bottle and decided to take pictures of it using different presets built into my Panasonic DMC G-2 Camera. I also used my macro close-up lenses to really get up close to the bottle. Here are some of my shots.

Cheers,

Dan

Photoblog: Good Eats 1, Diet 0

So…I’m trying to diet because I have gained a bit of a pot belly in the last year or so, but when you are around so many delicious foods, it’s a bit hard to do. Here is a round up of some of the good eats that I have found.

1) Roasted Live Octopus at Chungun Nakji 02-734-1366
2) Narcotic Kimbap at Kwangjang Market
3) Lamb and Onion Pastry at the Uzbek Bakery 02-2277-9211
4) Hakatabunkko Ramen
5) Korean Tempura and Tteokbokki at Sak
6) Desserts at Aa Design Museum

Hyeri Art Village

These days I am feeling very artsy and with my camera I feel like I can capture some great shots. It’s a Panasonic DMC G-2. My go-to lens is the 20mm with 1.7 aperture. I really like to play around with the different filters they have built into the camera such as “pure, expressive, retro etc. It’s great for me since I am a lazy photographer: I don’t like to photoshop. Anyway, I’ll get back to food pictures soon, but here are a couple shots of my visit to Hyeri Art Village. It was made by the CEO of Crown Bakery. He has been buying up old “Love Motels” and he is converting them to art museums and artist communes. If you are a photographer, I recommend you head up to this place.

Photoblog: Shots from Jukdo Fish Market, Pohang, Korea

Jukdo Market, Pohang, Korea

Pohang is famous for Posco Steel, the sea, Gwamaeggi, and the Jukdo Seafood market. The seafood market is huge and you will find everything from dried fish, to kelp, to whale, and shark. There are thousands of venders and the streets are just packed with people getting their food fix. Here are some of my shots of the market. You can find my story on Pohang in the Korean Air inflight magazine: Morning Calm. I might be able to post part of that story here later.

Cheers,

Dan
