Hello World Are you There?

Sometimes I wonder if I am just blogging into the void or if people are still reading the blog. I get emails every once in a while about posts but comments have gone down. I seem to get more complaints about the slowness of the site or the things I should do more of. The blog has been and will continue to be a hobby. My life and business keeps me quite busy so I can't post as often as I like. Also I have gotten myself into a serious relationship and this keeps me out living instead of sitting at the computer. (If I sit in front of it too long, I upset someone special). Yes, there are some contributors on the blog and I thank them for it but overall I think I need to rethink the direction of this blog. It is not fun for me right now and I feel this is evident in the posts. I think what I will do is post the reviews and such I have in waiting and take a step back and rethink the direction of this blog. If you have suggestions, I would be happy to hear them. All the best, Dan

Vine: A Short Visit to a Korean Convenience Store

I love Vine. It is a 6 second short video posting platform that is similar to Twitter. It is easy to use and quite fun to make videos with. Here is a quick post of my visit to a Korean convenience store. Dan

Samcheongdong: Heaven on Top

In search of a good luncheon spot I meandered over to the stylish Samcheongdong area. My agenda was to find: a good date spot that had a good lunch selection and had good coffee so my girlfriend and I could eat and then go back to work reenergized. Heaven on Top almost fits the criteria. The cafe/restaurant is well-lit, modern, and upscale with its marble tables. It has British-flare with their fine selection of teas and fine porcelain tea pots and cups. The restaurant offers brunch food, sandwiches, salads and desserts. The breads and desserts are made in house and the carrot cake is one of the best ones I have had with its rich, thick and sweet cream cheese icing to go along with the spiced layers of cake. For the food menu, their ricotta cheese blueberry cheesecake is more like a stuffed turnover. The pancake is very plush filled with a good amount of cheese and blueberries. To accompany the pancake were 2 slices of bacon, some scrambled egg and a yogurt topped with granola...

New Zealand Wine Event: Food and Wine Pairing

Occasionally, I get lucky enough to get invited to some VIP events. I was invited by Joshua Hall, a wine consultant and journalist that also helms the blog   Wine In Korea . He was hosting a wine event and he invited wine and food bloggers to the New Zealand residence house for a food and wine pairing of great food and wine. The food was prepared by Chef Jin Ho Lee who apparently has a restaurant in Korea. I'll have to find out where it is one of these days because the food was quite good. The food and wine were paired by the chef and the sommelier, Joshua Hall. And I have to say they did an exceptional job. We started out with some Hunter's Miru Miru Sparkling wine that went well with the salmon canapes and brushetta. We also had procuitto and melon. It was a good pairing. The wine was crisp and with a kiwi zip and went well with the meats and veggies. It was a good thing I came hungry because I was looking forward to a 6-course meal with wines. You can see the New Zealand ...

Dear World, South Korea is fine and were having fun

Dear World, I know that you are concerned about the threat of North Korea attacking the South, but I wanted to let you know that South Korea is just fine. We just spent the day shopping, eating and drinking and there was not one bomb in the sky. World, lets think about this logically. What would North Korea gain by attacking other nations? A strong nation acts. A weak nation bluffs. There is not a thing to gain if North Korea attacks. Of course we should not give into all the demands, but maybe we can be a tad merciful. It would be harder for them to shout and scream with their mouth's full. Anyway, the city has many cultural sights and the food and drinks are awesome here and the city is dynamic. I recommend that you to take a visit.

Photoblog: Paris

Hi everyone. I am lucky to be strolling the city on a short layover before heading back to Seoul. I plan on eating and seeing as much as I can before I leave though. Here is some of what I have seen and eaten. I will be uploading more soon but there is so much to see and do still. Also I have to tell you about the great meal I had with Le Foodist Dan
