My friend Paula asked for a paper shopping bag at the Lotte Mart because she wanted to help the environment. The mart wouldn't give her one because they couldn't find where they were (even though by law, they are supposed to give customers the option of paper or plastic.) Anyway, they couldn't find the paper bag, but they gave her something even better. If you look closely it says, "U.S. Meat Export Federation." On the back it says, "Beef" Haha. Oh, Korea. According to this AP article I just read the US federal courts have ruled that Bush administration, via the Agriculture Department, has the power to prevent companies from testing more than 1% of their livestock for mad cow disease. For my comments and a re-posting of the article (it's not very long), go here. I can't imagine what Koreans would say about this. I wonder what they would have said if this happened around two months ago!

I think this puts the whole mad cow protests into perfect perspective. What more can I say? They are doing a synchronized dance in protest. You've gotta love Korea^^ Here's the link for the dance! Great job roboseyo!
