Michelle's ice cream diaries: Pig bar (sorry, this is not a pork flavored ice cream)

pigbar

So in Korea people use the word pig (돼지) as a metaphor for someone who's greedy. I'm assuming that this AMBITIOUS ice cream bar was named after the greed rather than the pork factor and might I add that this ice cream bar really is greedily ambitious! It is at the base a vanilla ice cream bar, but within the vanilla bar there's a squeeze of strawberry goo (jam-thing). Covering the vanilla ice cream is a hard layer of chocolate and on top of that is a layer of crunchy chocolate and strawberry combo crumb sprinkled to tie it all together. phew~

I used to love this as a kid, now I eat it more out of nostalgia.

돼지 is actually more associated with wealth than greed. Koreans say dreaming a 돼지 꿈 (dream about a pig) is a sign of good fortune or impending wealth.

yeah, that's why the pig is dressed like a baller with a tuxedo and top hat on in the old wrapper logo.
