In the spring, a forest of apricot trees spanning 100,000 sq. meters on the hillside of Baegun Mountain offers a picturesque scene. Drawing over 500,000 visitors yearning to taste fresh apricots and view the apricot flowers, this is the earliest flower festival of the season throughout the nation. Liquor has been used for ancestral services or to serve guests, while rice cakes have been widely used to celebrate joyful events and ceremonies. Visitors can see, learn, and experience the taste of liquor and rice cakes in Gyeongju, most of which has been designated as UNESCO World Cultural Heritage.
