Gourmet 494

Gourmet 494 is a gourmet cafeteria in the basement of the Galleria Department Store which you can easily get to via the new Rodeo Apgujeong Subway line. It's got an array of shopping and restaurants. You can spend the day shopping and head back to this center for every meal. I recently went there with my staff for a company meal and we got a wide arrange of different foods to try.

The space is impressive. It is very luxurious and high tech as well. After you place your order, you get little electronic beacons that have GPS so servers can deliver your meal to you. The whole place is like a giant open kitchen/restaurant/cafeteria/grocery store that offers full service. Usually, I am weary of all these very mixed concepts, but I have to say that this works well.

I recommend you make a visit.

Here are some recommendations for breakfast lunch and dinner there with pictures.

Breakfast: Get your bread and coffee from a variety of cafes and bakeries. At Eric Kayser you can get fresh baked breads and pastries. Hotel Douce offers colorful eclairs and macaroons and Cafe Mamas offers delicious fruit drinks and sandwiches.

Lunch: For lunch, I would recommend the cheddar burger from Brooklyn burger with the kimchi fries from Vatos. If you are looking for something more Korean, the homemade tofu from Kamchon sundubu is also very good. If you are looking for something light, I would recommend the steamed dumplings from Cheonjin Poja.

Dinner: Dinner should be a bit more substantial so I would recommend the steaks at Bistecca which are grilled on site you can get that there with some grilled giant shrimp. If you want Italian, there is also the amazing pizzas from Pizzeria D'Buzza. For those looking for amazing sushi, then the reknowned Masumoto Mizuho has his restaurant: Mizusho by Sushi Matsumoto.

Dessert: Here they do dessert justice. You can get a strawberry rhubarb pie from Tartine or a gastronomic ice cream from Fell + Cole. The fun and intriguing names such as "Rum Drunken Raisins," "Irish Guilt," and Orange Blossom Cardamom, choosing an ice cream at Fell + Cole will be a tough decision.
