Seoul Eats Contest: Nominations for the Best Plate in Seoul

I'm sorry that I haven't done a contest in awhile, but I've been a tad busy with a couple different projects. The new contest is to nominate the best plate in Seoul, so nominate your favorite dish from any restaurant. It could be any dish: Korean, Italian, Turkish, American, etc. To nominate the dish you need to give: The name of the dish Price Name of the restaurant A sentence why it is the best.   If you would like to send a picture, that would be great as well. You can e-mail them to seouleats (at) gmail (dot) com. For example: Fresco Burger  11,000 won Jacoby's Burger  It's a big, hulking monster of a burger that's topped with onion rings and bacon. (the Jacoby's example is not a nomination in anyway. It's just an example.) All people who nominate a restaurant will be put into a drawing to win  a gift certificate for pies from Tartine (a 6,500 won value) and for Mexican food from Tomatillo. The contest will run until next Tuesday ...

Valentine Times Day Restaurant Guide 2010

Guys, picking the right restaurant for Valentine's Day is very important to your romantic wellbeing. Be sure to make a reservation. If you don't have a reserved, this is the equivalent of forgetting her anniversary, birthday, or name. You don't want to be that guy. It is not enough to just pick the right restaurant. The café or bar afterwards is just as important. And girls, it's 2010. You are more than welcome to make reservations and give hints on the places you would like to go. If you would like, you can have this page opened to this article and just strategically circle the restaurants, bars, cafes, you would like to go. A heart or a star would be a good hint. The restaurants on this list have a good mix of atmosphere and taste. In general, I am staying away from franchise places. I am staying away from hotels as well, but I have to say the hotel restaurants are perfect for Valentine's day. My main criteria are that I'm focusing on places that have ...

Who has the best Brazilian Churrascaria in Seoul? by Manuel Lara

Who has the best Brazilian Churrascaria in Seoul? by Manuel Lara What exactly is a Churrascaria, you might ask? Churrascarias are Brazilian style all-you-can-eat steak houses.  Churrascarias typically offer a variety of meats, which have been strategically placed on long skewers and are slowly roasted over hot burning charcoal. The grilled items usually include : Picanha (rump cover steak - a cut of beef which in many countries is considered to be the best part of the steer), sirloin steak, sausage, chicken and, depending on the Churrascaria, other items which can range from chicken hearts to lamb, turkey, potatoes, or pineapples. Unlike a buffet, at a Churrascaria the food is brought to your table and keeps coming at you until you politely tell the waiters/chefs ( gaucho chefs ), that you are done, or until you simply turn your green table marker over to the red side indicating that you are satisfied and/or in danger of a ruptured stomach. Now that you know what a Chur...
