Food Trend: Malatang Restaurants in Korea


Malatang has gone from Daerim's Chinatown to mainstream Korea. This is quite interesting since Sichuan food has tried before and failed. This time it seems it might stay. The restaurants are hip places for drinking. You can go there for lunch but it's best to sweat it out at night. This place in Itaewon is getting some well deserved fame because their food is tasty and made to order. Their fried shrimp with honey sauce was cracklingly delicious. Their malatang was a numbing burn that needs rice. Very tasty. [Naver Map]
