Aliens Deliver Vegan Treats to Your Door!

Alien's Day Out  Who doesn't like homemade cookies and cakes delivered to your door? (If this applies to you, please stop reading my blog and go away). These days, I have been thinking of gifts to get friends and a big hit have been Mipa's Vegan Cakes and Cookies from Alien's Bake Shop . I have ordered twice for my vegan friends and I would happily do it for my omnivore friends as well. Everything is fresh baked, creative and delicious.

Delivered: Half plain, half spicy chicken from BBQ Chicken

My diet has hit a wall this week. I mean the week started out good. I went running Monday- Wednesday, but then work and meetings and late night drinking took over. I'll get back on the wagon soon. The other thing that is ruining my diet are all the delivery chicken places around here (Haebangchon). The newest one is BBQ Chicken. I think they make the best batter for the chicken and they fry everything in olive oil, so...it's healthy fried chicken, right? The oil does make it seem less greasy and there is a nice crunch. The spicy one was...spicy. Loved it and the plain was just like the crispy chicken from KFC. Good stuff. 02-1588-9282

Beer O'Clock: Delivery Pizza in Gyeonidan

Beer O'Clock is known as one of the best western bars in Sinchon. It is run by my buddies, Clarke and Trevor and they decided to expand into the heart of where foreigners live in Gyeonidan. What they decided to focus on here is pizza and that's all that they do. The place is small but they do a variety of different pizzas ranging from bbq chicken, Hawaiian, Meatza, Double Cheese, and the works. The pizzas are sizable and pretty good. I mean it's like dominos but at half the price and with normal toppings. You won't find shrimp tempura, potato wedges, or honey mustard on your pizza pies here. Like I said, not bad and I really like that they will let you have cheddar cheese on your pizza. (Double Cheese doesn't mean extra cheese. They mean cheddar plus mozzarella.)  Located in Gyeonidan across from the Family Mart and the Kimbap Chunguk. 02-792-0007 www.beeroclock.ca

Fried Chicken, Beer, and Girl's Generation Delivered!

I might have mentioned before that I love Gupnae Chicken. I love their chicken, their spicy sauce (I think it might be a chipotle sauce). The last weekend that I ordered, I found another reason to love them- new posters from all the girls from the Korean Girl Group, Girl's Generation and they even deliver beer! (Ok, the beer is a bit of a rip off at 5,000 won for draft beer they put in a pitcher.) Here are some great shots of the... by my friend David Kim. Gupnae Chicken in Haebangchon

I love Gupnae Chicken because it is: 1. BBQ'd and not battered and fried. 2. The spicy sauce is awesome and not some sugared down nasty stuff that tastes like McDonald's Sweet and Sour sauce. 3. It comes with the white Korean radish (I know every place does and I love them.) 4. Girl's Generation does the commercials and you get a poster from one of the lovely's when you order the chicken. 5. They deliver to my house. 6. It's not expensive (14,000). 7. It's delicious. Gupnae Chicken in Haebangchon 02-792-9291 (I assume they must be able to take orders in English, but I haven't tried it.)
