Bali

I'm sorry, I didn't tell everyone. Last week I went to Bali to get away from Korea for a couple days.

It was a very restful and productive time. I did some writing and I'm back in Korea with new perspective.

Sometimes you just have to get away from it all.

I stayed in Candidasa, which is a city to the east, at the Candi Beach Cottage. It had two beautiful pools and it was right on the beach. It also had a running trail- it's really nice to run among the palm trees in the morning.

My room was nice, although a bit dark. My TV didn't work well- not that anything was on, but when it rained it would have been nice to watch something other than the geckos gathering around the door.

They had an excellent complementary breakfast. The fruit and the omelets were my favorite. The service was sublime. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. It's a place I'd definitely want to travel to again.

Oh, of note, it's about 2 and a half hours from the airport. And the roads are a bit ...scary it putting it lightly. Most of the roads are two lanes- very narrow lanes and there is the constant flow of motorcyclist. At many parts of the road one side of the road would be closed for construction, so I was worried every second that the taxi would get into an accident.
