South Korea is in Street Food from the makers of Chef's Table on Netflix

Wow! The trailer of Street Food Asia by the Creators of Chef’s Table finally came out! It looks great and I love the heart and message of it. It is amazing to see a small part of it since I helped work on the Korea episode. It was a long process and we pitched dozens of ideas but I feel Korea is justly represented. Thank you to Ursula Collison and Tamara Rosenfeld for working with our crew to get the green light on the Korea episode. Out of 195 countries in the world we were 1 of 10. Thank you to my amazing local crew: Hyemin, Yoonie, Junhee, Taesan and everyone else. Thank you to Yoonsun Cho, the Park family from Pakgane, the Four Seasons Hotel and Hong Lim’s banchan store. The Girl With the Green Tea Hotteok

Hotteok in Winter. Here is Hazell dressed for winter on her kickboard. To keep her warm, I bought her a hotteok: A Korean Sweet Cinnamon, Nut Caramel Donut. She didn't care so much for the donut but she does look good in her winter clothes. You can find them in the traditional markets. This one is at Gwangmyeong Sagaree Station. If you wanted some more information on this iconic dish read further below.  One dish that I believe is universally adored in Korea is hotteok. Hotteok is a leavened dough cake that is stuffed with cinnamon, sugar and nuts. Them the dough is flattened and fried. Through the frying process the sugar melts to create a delicious caramel filling. According to some accounts from food historians, this snack was brought to Korea by Chinese immigrants who first landed in Incheon's international port. And even though the snack and the name resembles western "hot cake," hotteok's etymology is Chinese/Korean. "Ho" comes from the Chin...

Insadong Street Food is Alive and Well! But...Should it be?

Samcheongdong at Night with my New 20mm 1.7 lens!

I love my Panasonic DMC-G2 Camera. It's lighter, more compact than my Canon 500D and I love the colors that it gets. I'm still getting used to the controls, but I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. I find it best if I shoot in Manual Mode. Yesterday, I bought the 20mm 1.7 lense because, even though I like the option of adding my 35mm Canon F2 lens, it is hard to get fine focus because it doesn't autofocus.The 20mm lens is brighter and faster than the 35mm and works pretty well at night. A small collection of the tip of the iceberg - Korean Street Food

Dduk Galbi (떡갈비) Hodduk (호떡) and yes, everyone eats it w/ that much intensity Happy family of fried corn dogs Fried hot dog bun with loads of ketchup and mayo Bulgogi stuffed bun Roasted pig Korean style (drool) The infamous Namdaemun hodduk, deep fried(?) (남대문 호떡) The best street food, all the Korean side dishes you could ever want (반찬) My favorite way is to eat it w/ fried yaki dumpling (떡볶이랑 야끼만두) and to end this small collection, noodles underneath the escalator. Double take - Chocolate sauce, Kiwi sauce, Nacho cheese, onion and relish HOTDOG!

I was too chicken **** to try this, but Dan... "How are you holding up?" Mr. Kuh's hotdog stand right outside of exit #7 Seolleung station (선릉)... saw the menu w/ the most incredible lineup of sauces on a hotdog ever written and had to do a double take and walk inside.... to be honest, it just looks like a nacho cheese hotdog from this exterior shot :( *boo~ Initially Dan said it wasn't as bad as you might think.... then he told me he was sick for a whole day and a half. Hope he doesn't grow another nipple or something :P I kid. and here's the full lineup, so if you ever want your fixin' call them, they deliver! to be fair, Dan also did say the hotdog itself wasn't bad, so I'm sure the other hotdog's might be very tasty, but just not as incredible as the Chocolate, Kiwi, Nacho cheese, Onion and Relish Hot Dog (*bling*)
