The 1st Cherry Blossum Tree in Full Bloom in Busan

I think this means the others are coming. On a farm not too far from Haeundae Beach, I saw a lone cherry blossum tree in full bloom. Others around the country such as in Gangneung and Jeonju are just about to bloom- the buds are starting to form. This one was in full bloom and it was glorious. With the warming weather I think that cherry blossom season will be coming much sooner than we expected this year. #blog #cherryblossoms #Korea -- Via my dancing thumbs I call thumbalyn and thumbadumb. Doorway to Korea: Gangneung

Doorway to Korea. This is a shot I took in Gangneung's Seongyojang. Gangneung is one of my favorite places to visit because of the sea, coffee and soondubu. Go there soon!  #korea  [Naver Map] Cultural Heritage of Korea Center Outdoor Theater Unjeong-dong Gangneung-si Gangwon-do http://naver.me/Fzwq9FeK

Sunset at Palsae Island in Sinan County Korea

Sunset on Palsae Island in Jeollanamdo Korea. Such a peaceful and clean place. It's where my wife's family is from and it is well known for their mineral rich salt that is used in fermented foods. #korea #sunset #polarr #seouleats #koreafood #foodporn #love #instagood #beautiful #food #korea  #instatravel #travelgram

Cherry Blossoms in Korea and Other Signs of Spring

Cherry Blossoms in Seoul A Dog Guarding Shoes I love when Spring rolls around in Korea because there are so many parks you can go to and even in the city you can see things in bloom. This winter (2014) was a bit rough and we had some extremely cold days even March. Which Koreans call this Ggotsaem Chuwa ( 꽃샘추위) which means, winter is jealous of the flowers. Luckily, things are starting to bloom and I was lucky enough to get some pictures of it plus some other shots in my neighbourhood in Gangnam. I recommend that you all take a walk and enjoy the weather these days. Recess in Korea Spring in Bloom

Photoblog:Winter in Seoul

It's cold in Korea, so here is a photo essay of how you can stay warm. Eat Odeng at Gwangjang Market. This ajumma has been here for 30 years. You'll see her in the main food area. Eat bbongobang or red bean stuffed gold fish bread. Wear Silly Hats Go on a date Koreans like to eat ice cream in the winter because they say it warms them up. Dress warm Drink pine needle tea or steamed pine needle rice cake Eat Juk! Pumpkin Juk or red bean or black sesame Eat Korean BBQ Here are some pictures of winter in Korea. When I think of winter I think of Bungeobbang, O-deng, Panda caps, love, pumpkin juk, and people eating ice cream out in the cold. You just gotta love Korea.Dan

A Green Tea Experience In Boseong, Korea

Yesterday I was lucky to travel to Boseong tea country with some friends to prepare for a new out of Seoul. As expected, Boseong was as beautiful as I expected. The land is picturesque and the tea products there are worth the journey. Here are some of what we saw during on our day. Here is the walk to the Dawon tea park. The rolling green tea fields. The green tea foods such as green tea bibimbap and green tea Naengmyeong. the green tea ice cream was incredible after the long hike to the top of the green tea peak. We learned how to make green tea from a tea master at her house. Boseong is worth the journey to get there. If you are looking to experience a truly Korean experience, I suggest you make a trip.

I am missing London Bites

I am supposed to be finishing up an article on Korean food but as I sit here, I am craving the food that I ate in London. Boy was that an epic food trip. Borough Market was one of the most interesting markets that I have been to and I ate so many things there from the sausage rolls, chorizo sandwiches, grilled cheese, beet and apple juice, cheese, cookies and more. I now know why I am having problems getting rid of the two extra kilos I gained on the trip. Lol. I also miss the meatpies. I was also lucky to stop at Gordon Ramsey's Plane food on a short stopover at the Heathrow airport. I had Eggs Florentine and it was a nice breakfast before my last meal back to Korea. Anyway, back to work. Deadlines are due. Dan

Vine: A Short Visit to a Korean Convenience Store

I love Vine. It is a 6 second short video posting platform that is similar to Twitter. It is easy to use and quite fun to make videos with. Here is a quick post of my visit to a Korean convenience store. Dan

Photoblog: Paris

Hi everyone. I am lucky to be strolling the city on a short layover before heading back to Seoul. I plan on eating and seeing as much as I can before I leave though. Here is some of what I have seen and eaten. I will be uploading more soon but there is so much to see and do still. Also I have to tell you about the great meal I had with Le Foodist Dan
