Foodie Meetup at TAF Art Cafe in Sinchon

Balsamic Brushetta at TAF Foodie Meetup at TAF with Joe Mcpherson and Sarah Lee Warmed Spinach Dip My life is pretty good most of the time- especially when I get invited by restaurants to come eat. TAF or Total Art Festival is a nice little cafe with good food over by Sinchon Station. I was invited to come by the owner Dori Lee and when I arrived I was surprised to see a few other food bloggers. Sarah Lee of Seoulinthecity.com  and the Might Joe McPherson of Zenkimchi.com  were already there. As we talked about our foodie lives, Dori and her staff prepared a tasting of their menu.  First came the warmed spinach dip. Quite nice with crunchy walnuts on top. The dip was cheesy and had good flavor. They went well with the nachos, but I think I would have preferred a pita or some flat bread. Next came a curried spinach salad over steamed pumpkin. Excellent presentation and I loved the earl grey soaked raisins in the dish. It paired well with the pumpkin. The last ...

Where to Eat during the Superbowl in Seoul 2011

Oh, shoot! the superbowl is coming up and I forgot to post where you can eat during the game. Luckily, our friends over at 10 magazine put up a good list. Now of the places that are posted, I recommend that you check out the Wolfhound and at Sam Ryans. Both have great bar food and plenty of TVs. The steak sandwiches at the Wolfhound are top notch and so are their breakfast platters. Sam Ryans has an excellent steak and eggs combo and their burgers are magnificent. Now if I was to put them up side by side, I would recommend Sam Ryan simply because their TVs are newer than the Wolfhounds. Rocky Mountain Tavern is never bad- I like their wings, but it's down on the other side of Itaewon. As for Gyeonidan, Phillies will be doing something. It's the local bar, so it needs a bit of a wash and the food has gone south a bit, but they always have plenty of booze. Up in the Sinchon and Hongdae areas, there is Beer O'Clock and Yaletown. Both have great food. Both have great bu...

Yaletown Burgers and Bar in Sincheon

Yaletown is a great pub in Sincheon that I like to hang out at. There is a map below, but just look for a big, fat indian with a potbelly on the first floor. Walk up the stairs to the 4th? floor. I recommend their mini sliders. They have good meat and they make their own buns. Close-up of the mini-slider from Yaletown. Their nachos are a sizable feast as well. Lots of Jalepenos, cheese, and other deliciousness----OHHHH... And they make their own Guacamole. They have Poutin as well at Yaletown. The fries could be crispy, but this hits the spot on cold days and my Canadian friends said it reminded them of home. Location: - 33-5, Changchun-dong, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul View Larger Map
