Nutbutter and a kick to the taco

My good friend Maggie Whittum of Seoul City Improv is currently preparing for a Improv tour of Canadian Tour Festival and she recently did an improv show in Beijing and she is directing a World Premiere Play "Suicides in Vegas" . She is currently staying with me at my apartment, although I never get to see her because she is always so busy. I have a 3 bedroom apartment that I share with a roommate and Maggie took the small third bedroom that has a couch and giant TV. She sleeps on the floor because the couch is too short for her lanky, Coloradian Body.  The floor bed folds up around her and she has affectionately named her "Taco" Maggie is the only person that I know that works that works more than I do in pursuit of her dream and so...she probably wants to sleep in every once in a while. Since I wait up very early, Maggie has asked me to give her a kick in her Taco to wake her up. That's what the sticker is about below. Anyway,  I think we need to support the...

Seoul Taco Bell Relaunch Story in the Washington Post

Taco Bell in Seoul In the Washington Post there is a story on the Seoul Taco Bell Relaunch by Chico Harlan . It's a well researched article with interviews with the CEO of the new Taco Bell: Shin Sang Yong of M2G Ltd. who says: "people are ready for something new. They've had 20 years of pizza and hamburgers." Shin envisions opening 30 South Korean franchises in the next three years. One hundred in the next six. Right now, Seoul has about 30 Mexican and Tex-Mex restaurants. I just hope he doesn't expand too fast, because I think Taco Bell works in Itaewon, but I don't think it would work in- let's say- Nowon (way up north east). The article hits on the food trends in Seoul and mentions Omer of Sultan Kebap and Suji Park of Suji's Restaurant . NAKED AND UNABASHED

by Hwang Hye Jung In a world where the word “naked” seems to become overused in marketing of products ranging from fruit juice to an actual chef, Johnny Lee of Naked Grill in Hannam Dong still believes in its class and marketability. “The word ‘naked’ is a concept----nothing hidden, everything fresh,” says Johnny as he proudly shows off his open kitchen in which diners see staff preparing sausages, lettuce, and all other details in plain sight. A young spunky Korean American who moved back to Korea for good four years ago, Johnny came from a family of restaurateurs, living and learning the culinary business as he grew up mostly in California. Johnny officially opened his own venture Naked Grill in September, however, before that he had an even more daring venture. “Burgers and tacos have always been my passion, before I found our present locale, I decided to launch the first-ever Taco truck in Korea six months ago. Our beef and chicken tacos, which feature typical L.A....

Dos Tacos at Nambu terminal???

Has Dos Tacos expanded to Nambu Terminal? Can anyone confirm this? This is a message I got from a reader: As with most of "directions" in South Korea - I had a little trouble. The  Orange Line #3 @Nambu Bus Terminal (I think that was the one) is only about 50 Meters west of the Dos Taco's, not quite the "hike" as from the Gangnam stop on the "green line". Thanks for the recommendations - I have tried several (Wolfhound, 3Alley, Ryans, On-the-Boarder, and even a few not recommended). Thanks and keep up the good work. I mean it must be true because he did get pictures.
