"Street Food Around the World" TV Show Coming to Seoul!

Have you seen this show: Street Food Around the World on Nat Geo and the Travel Channel? It is coming to Korea in October! Recommend your favorite street food stalls north of the river and I'll see if I can get them included on the show! I'm going to be their on the ground fixer, researcher and host. Don't worry, I've done quite a few of these shows now. If you are interested in seeing some of the production I have done, check out my company's page: O'ngo Food. Street Food Around the World

Trending Restaurants: Porchetta, B&Chae, and Funnel Cakes at Lotte World

There are so many restaurants that I want to check out, but my waistline won't let me yet. Here are some of the new ones on my shortlist and what some people have been saying about them. If you have been, leave us your thoughts in the comments. Dan This is a sandwich from Porcini in Kyungnidan. Carys who recently went there wrote, "New jerk chicken place in Kyungnidan was closed so went to Porchetta next door. Pretty good sandwiches. http://t.co/EkjHEwv4 " It is on the main drag on the same strip as Bao, the Concorde, and Toucan (a new jerk chicken place). B & Chae is a new vegetarian buffet that just opened over by Seoul National University of Education exit 14. They look like they have a very healthy buffet style lunch for only 15,000 from 11-4:30 everyday. Looks pretty good.  http://kuza9797.blog.me/160237436 Oh, and Justin got totally excited about funnel cakes over at Lotte World on the Seoul Eats Facebook Group. Dan

Egg Rice for Breakfast at Lotteria and a Croissant from Paris

I Have a very early private food tour this morning, so I need my coffee. Today I stopped into Lotteria to have my breakfast. Not my normal place to go but the idea of an egg rice intrigued me. It is a fried egg between 2 rice patties that have some veggies and ham( sorry vegetarians). It is a very good little morsel I must say and tastes healthier than an egg McMuffin. This with a coffee for only 3,500 won is dang good. The best part is that the egg tastes like egg and not like plastic. (Coffee could be better though) My guests are running late so I got a croissant from Paris Croissant. They look very pretty. They have a slightly sweet glaze. It's funny why we pay 2,200 won for air though. :)

Comfort Zone - Now Serving Brunch!

I had the chance to visit Comfort Zone yesterday and check out their brand new brunch menu and I must say, I was very happy to be there. I grew up eating this kind of food on the weekends and I miss it. I can only count about a handful of places that offer good American style breakfast food, and I'm glad that Comfort Zone is going to be another spot on that list. The decor shows that it's been a lounge for the past 10 years, no one is going to mistake it for a romantic brunch location, but it's cozy and friendly. Also, there is a very nice patio area that we were unfortunately unable to enjoy due to some relentless rain. But I plan to make it back there and drink a Bloody Mary out there. Comfort Zone has been a happening lounge around Hyehwa for the last 11 years, but they just started serving brunch three weeks ago. They have a nice selection. Check here for the full brunch menu. To kick off their brunch offering, they have made a coupon available through daum.net. Be su...
