Nicotine, eh? That's why it tastes so nasty?! LOL!
Not nicotine per se, but Vitamin B3 (Niacin), which is also called nicotinic acid. Niacin is a common ingredient in most energy drinks. Taurine is probably what gives Bacchus/Red Bull their distinctive taste though.

The stuff in Bacchus would probably scare you. I've been told it has nicotine and lot's of energy producing stuff in it. It's scary stuff, but I love it. When I was trying to quit smoking, I got my nicotine from this drink. I'm on it right now and it's 2am and I'm flying....
