Cooking for your dog: carrot pancakes and sunflower and peanut butter treats

I've been doing some research on what to feed your dog and I found some great recipes. Hubble doesn't like dry food at all and I have to mix in something good with it to get him to eat it. He's a really picky eater (he must be like me). These days, I've been making an egg for him in the morning and, if I make a meat dish, I give him a portion. I've found that he has been happier since I've started cooking for him. At the Maltese Terrier Guide , I found a recipe for carrot pancakes. Carrots are quite good for dogs and they are crunchy, so helps clean their teeth. I sometimes give my dog carrot slices as a treat. I also found out that dogs like broccoli as well. I'll have to give that a try next time. The Maltese Terrier Guide suggested you mash up the carrots into a paste, mix in a bit of flour and then fry them up in a fry pan. An interesting treat that I'm going to try is a sunflower and peanut butter treat. This treat is rich in protein and the pean...

Foods to Avoid Feeding Your Dog

I think you are all familiar with my dog: Hubble. Recently he went to stay at my friend Richard's house in the country (Bundang) and when he came back, he became accustomed to a whole new standard of living. I've been cooking for him these days. I usually make a scrambled egg for him in the morning and I'll share some of my dinner with him. I feel that eating this way- at regular times, is good for our relationship and for both of our healths. In the last year, I've gained quite a bit of weight: ten pounds. I guess in the line of work that I do, it is understandable; however, this is unacceptable to me. I've been on a diet since last Sunday and I've been sticking to it. These days, I eat very little rice (I've had one bowl in the last week). I eat more soups, stews, and vegetables. Also, I'm following Michael Pollan's advice to eating: "If you are not hungry enough to eat an apple, then you are not hungry." I've lost a pound in the l...

Hubbleshot: Hubble is back! Dog Omelette

My dog Hubble is totally spoiled. He just spent a week in the country (Bundang^^) with my friend Richard where he was pampered and groomed all week. He came back with a whole new standard of living. He had his "hair did" and he had Richard cook for him everyday. Well, I am a competitive person, so I can't let Richard best in taking care of my dog, so I have to cook gourmet meals for Hubble. I must prove that my dog loves me more.^^ (Sorry, Richard, but I'm better than you.) Breakfast today was Dog Omelette Rice (개오무라이스) It was an egg fried in olive oil mixed with his dried food mix.^^ Eggs are very good for dogs and it encourages them to eat the dry mix, which is good for cleaning their teeth.
