The best breakfast in Seoul?

There is a lack of real hearty breakfast places in Seoul. The RMT (Rocky Mountain Tavern) used to do a good trucker's breakfast a while back, but I don't know if they still do. Western Breakfast in Korea has become a sugar bomb of puffed up, overpriced, fluff. Breakfast is supposed to be cheap, hearty, and comforting. I feel that many places have missed the boat on that. Well, the Wolfhound seems to share my ideals for their prices are reasonable and the portions sizable. I know I didn't post this before, but this is a picture during the Superbowl 2010. The Wolfhound was absolutely packed and everyone was enjoying breakfast. Well, not everyone. some people were enjoying a beer and a shot. I had a coffee with a shot of Jameson. I think that the Wolfhound should have breakfast every morning. I think that's something that Seoul is sorely lacking. Cheers to this guy^^ Here is the meal. The shot in the background is the Veggie Breakfast. It comes with 2 eggs, hash browns, fr...

Where to Watch the Superbowl in Seoul 2010

Go Saints and Colts! (that's who are playing right?) I received this message from my buddy James: Hi Daniel, Before I ask google, I was hoping you can help me with something. I was wondering if there are places in Seoul that will be showing the Superbowl live. It would be a Monday morning for us here in Korea (about 8~9am) so I'm not getting my hopes up... just a spot where I can possibly get a coffee and nurse a short stack of pancakes for 4 hours while I watch the entire game. HA! Thanks, James So, I decided to send out a couple of e-mails and the first person to respond was the Wolfhound. Yes, they will be celebrating the Superbowl and kickoff is at 8:25am and they'll be serving their entire menu. Here's Wayne from the Wolfhound: We are planning on being open for it.  This will be our third year in a row showing it.  It kicks off at 8:25am Monday morning if I am correct.  Our full menu will be open however most people order the breakfast...

The Winners of the Wolfhound Menu Contest are...

The winners of the wolfhound menu contest are Sharon, Cassie Jean, and Roboseyo. Please e-mail me your addresses so we can mail out your gift certificates. Here is my e-mail address.  I would like to send a special thanks to all that played. BTW, Sharon, the Wolfhound said they will be adding a soup and sandwich combo soon. Dan Here are their comments: Cassie Jean said... I think anyone who lives in or around Seoul knows of The Wolfhound. The atmosphere, the specials, it's a fan favorite. The menu is huge. But who doesn't love a wide selection of food? Especially Irish? However, some dishes seem to be a tad repetative. People aren't coming to The Wolfhound for chicken strips and caesar salads. I think most people would take a well done Shepard's Pie over those fast food options anyday. I agree with the previous posters. Cut down on the nachos, strips, and non-irish foods. I've sampled the Irish fare and it was pretty tasty, so stick with what you do wel...

New Dinner Giveaway: What do you think of the New Wolfhound Menu?

THE CONTEST ENDS SOON SO GET YOUR COMMENT IN! UPDATED! Contest extended till December 24th! Get your comments in now! Seoul Eats has a new dinner giveaway contest. This one is for The Wolfhound Pub in Itaewon. As you have probably noticed, I am a big fan of the pub. Last Sunday, I went to the Wolfhound for a Seoul Eats meet up and Wayne from the Wolfhound was kind enough to reserve us a table on the busy Sunday afternoon. The last contest for Tartine was a huge success. The final comment count was 319. Chef Garrett of Tartine was very happy and he said he is interested in running the promotion again in the future. So the new contest is to give comments about the New Wolfhound menu. I have three 20,000 won gift certificates to give away. You can make comments about food that you liked, disliked, or suggestions for additions or subtractions. The contest is not about the quantity of comments but the quality. These comments will be used by the Wolfhound to design their new menu,...

Seoul Eats Get-together this Sunday at the Wolfhound

This Sunday, I would like to plan a little get together at the Wolfhound Pub at 5pm. The Wolfhound has asked me to give them some advice on their menu and I was hoping I could ask you to come help me to taste and give me your opinion on the food. The Wolfhound has a very extensive menu from burgers, fish n chips, all-day breakfast, thai green curry, grilled cheese, etc. Send me an e-mail at seouleats to let me know if you can make it. The Wolfhound http://www.wolfhoundpub.com/ Also, this is not a free tasting. I don't know why people think so. The Wolfhound will give us a drink special, but we will have to pay for the food.      Directions: The Wolfhound is near the Itaewon Subway Station.  From the station walk down the street ACROSS from the Hamilton Hotel and go down the first alley on your right.  We are about 20 meters down on the right on the 2nd and 3rd floors.  If you are still confused call 02-749-7971.

Seoul's Wolfhound Irish Pub and Restaurant's Food Menu

I love checking out menus before I go to the restaurant and Wayne from the Wolfhound sent me a copy of their new menu. The menu is dang extensive. You've got everything from Burgers, Brunch, to Thai Green Curry and Bangers and Mash. All good stuff. The Wolfhound is Seoul's Cheer's. You can always rely on getting good beer and good company. www.wolfhoundpub.com

Grilled Cheese and Green Curry at the Wolfhound

Sometimes you just need a grilled cheese and the Wolfhound can get you your fix for 6,800 won. And I also recommend their Green Curry with Rice. Heck, it's better than many of those other supposed Thai Restaurants. Yum
